American Association of Orthodontists Promotes Sport Safety

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) urges athletes to wear mouthguards. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention states that collision sports and contact sports have the highest injury rate. Baseball, soccer, basketball, ice hockey and football account for about 80% of all sports-related emergency room visits for children between 5 and 14 years of age.
